The Chevrolet Equinox is back on the road for 2022 with some exciting new upgrades that have prepared the crossover community for the next adventure. This year’s Equinox represents the fourth year of a third-generation vehicle that had quite the start, serving as one of Chevrolet’s first crossovers as demand began to rise. The newest Equinox has seen a few upgrades, both on the outside and under the hood, as well as a shake-up to each level trim. New with the 2022 Equinox

The 2022 Equinox see’s a more modern rearrangement of its exterior styling. The vehicle’s front and the end have been redone for this year, resulting in a much larger front grille and expanded front air vents, a second set of LED headlights as well as powerful fog lamps. The vehicle’s new front end also allows for more color to shine through as a side effect of more all-around area. The Equinox sees the same engine across the entire lineup regardless of trim level, and now is home to a 1.5L Turbo 4-cylinder engine with optional all-wheel-drive configurations.

The vehicle also sees changes with the model lineup itself. The base model is now their LS line, a differing start from 2021 which started with the basic L model. The Equinox also releases an RS model to the lineup, a mid-grade trim with excellent options that stop just short of the top-tier premier trim. The now-base LS comes with a ton of safety features that come standard for the first time yet seen in an Equinox, all the better to help you on your daily commute or for those weekend expeditions.

Design

The 2022 Chevy Equinox features a smoothly contoured body available in either matte black or chrome finished accents that include everything from the upgraded roof rails to the expanded grille. The expanded front end leaves more room for the vehicle’s color to shine through, and the lengthy windows make for a well-rounded SUV.

The interior of the vehicle has been upgraded as well. The 7.0-inch center console has been redesigned to have a more streamlined look, with less overall clutter for ease of access. The seating comes in either cloth or leather upholstery, with options for two-toned stitching for a more rugged look. Maximize the interior space with multiple seating configurations culminating in over 63 cubic feet of cargo room.

Safety

The 2022 Equinox sees higher safety features than ever before. Standard in the now-base LS includes features such as emergency braking, active brake control, blind-spot monitoring, and features that can help you set parameters for your teenage driver. Upgraded trims include features such as 360-degree surround monitoring and more.

The 7.0-inch touchscreen and surrounding console have been cleaned up for a better look but feature the same great entertainment system made by Chevrolet. For 2022, you can enjoy your favorite apps, phone, navigation, and more with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, all wirelessly via a Bluetooth connection.
